The Making of our Furniture
We have always been known for our amazing fabrics, but many don’t realize we have been crafting custom upholstered furniture for over 30 years! Specializing in American Made Upholstery, we only work with the best craftspeople in the business, ensuring a quality product that will last for years. Our key focus is on seating comfort, frame quality, premium fabrics, and cushioning tailored to the clients needs. We are proud to represent Wesley Hall, Lee, C.R. Laine, Ambella Home and more.
In addition to our offerings from these elite industry partners, we also offer 100% custom made options. If you can imagine it, we can create it! For unique and discerning clients and designers with their own special designs and dimensions, we can meet those specific custom needs. We guarantee all custom projects will be bench-made to our exacting high standards.
We also specialize in reproduction. We can recreate items you may have seen online or in a catalog that are often poorly made overseas, and bench craft them for you in our local workshop. Contact one of our experts to discuss your specific project needs.
A little bit about our furniture construction:
Makers of fine furniture take no shortcuts in product development and manufacturing. Therefore, when you evaluate Lewis & Sheron Textiles upholstered products, you can expect certain construction features. These features include:
Deep Coils individually eight-way hand tied
Double – Doweled Joints
Double – covered and padded exteriors
With Lewis & Sheron Textiles you can expect even more: quality of scaling, engineered cushioning, tailoring, and custom fabric handling.
Scaling – Correct structural proportions yield beauty and function – assuring angles, curves, and primary components work together to fit the human body.
Engineered Cushioning – Engineered cushioning makes you feel as if you belong to the seat. The longer you stay seated, the stronger the feeling will be. You’ll sit light; you won’t fall through the cushion. You won’t bounce. Engineered cushioning is a combination of technical know-how, artistic skill, and personal caring.
Tailoring Craftsmanship – L&S uses the benchmaker’s technique in its manufacturing process. This means that individuals, not assembly lines, make our furniture. Individuals are accountable for their work and their pride shows in every stitch and every tuft. Fine tailoring is a commitment.
C.O.M. Handling – Since custom cutting is our specialty, you can expect flow matched and four way matched handling of your fabric. Our skilled cutters give each fabric they roll out special deliberation before cutting. Special treatments of combination fabrics offer our craftsman a challenge they find enjoyable and exciting.
